NEUTERING
Neutering for cats and dogs

Please allow us to explain a bit about neutering. Neutering is a medical procedure that prevents pets (cats and dogs) from being able to reproduce, and also comes with other health benefits. In males referred as castration and for females as spaying. Both are carried out under general anesthetic and very safe for your pet.

For puppies/ adult dogs: Many people prefer to wait until their female dogs had their first period, to be frankly, there isn't any benefit for this. In fact, you will reduce it's health benefits if you wait. Our recommendation are, around six months for female dogs and around seven months to neutered male dogs.
For kittens/ adult cats: When your cats already had their primary vaccinations or at four months old, cats can be neutered. How about older cats? Do not worry, it’s completely safe to neuter older cats.

The decision to neuter your pets is completely up to you and the needs of your pets. Our Vet will be happy to advise you on the best choice for your Pets.
